Although the applications on most servers are promising with
regard to the potentiality of Intelligent Software Agents
the majority of the correspondents tend to either hold back
or show great uncertainty towards Agents.
The low response to the questionnaire probably is as well as
the mentioned uncertainty a clear sign that most
organisations are not ready yet.
The trends in the the virtual world show however that the
future will undoubtedly show a lot of agents willing to
proove their right to exist, to live. Huge acquisitions and
investments are made by the larger companies (e.g.
Microcsoft which recently bought firefly).
These companies do not want to miss out on this, they want
to be sure to be active agents in the field when the rest of
the world is getting ready for it.
